After you are hurt in a car accident, insurance carriers have dozens of tricks and scams that they use to pay you less for your injury claim. One of which is the “Sweet as Sugar, Cold as Ice” routine. In the beginning the adjuster may even appear sensitive and sympathetic as they ask you about the collision and your injuries, employment, time missed from work, etc. But they are only gathering information to use against you later to devalue your claim.
Many insurance companies have adjusters that are trained differently to handle people that are not represented by attorneys. Part of that training is to gather as much information as possible to use against you. Medical authorizations to obtain your medical records, authorizations to obtain employment information, health insurance, Social Security, Federal Tax info, information about your injuries, time off from work, treatment, prior injuries or illnesses; DO NOT PROVIDE THIS INFORMATION!!! Talk to an accident injury attorney first. They are gathering this information to unfairly use it against you to blame everything other than the car accident for your injuries and pay you as little as possible!
